Arfvedsonite is a rare amphibole mineral containing Sodium and Iron within its formula. Amphiboles are inosilicate minerals which form as needle-like or prismatic crystals often containing the elements of Iron and or Magnesium within the compound. Amphibolitic colours include, white, yellow, green, blue, brown and black, often exhibiting pleochroism (different colours when observed from different angles and especially in polarized light). Arfvedsonite is often observed as silver/blue/greenish-grey radiating fibres within an intrusive igneous rock base.
This mineral has often been mistaken for, supplied and sold as Astrophyllite in the past (we are no exception) however it can be distinguished from such as the streaks in Arfvedsonite are blue/silver/grey in colour whereas those in Astrophyllite are golden/bronze/brown.
The frequency of Arfvedsonite connects to the third eye and crown chakras so that one is open to the ‘higher’ understanding of situations. It helps one to be positive in one’s thoughts and actions and not to be drawn to negativity or send out negative thought forms.
Via the third eye chakra this crystal can aid one’s sleep patterns and dispel any negative energy from nightmares, allowing one a clearer ‘vision’ of one’s life’s experiences, and increasing one’s intuitive side.
